Usually when people ask to shoot me, I shy away and make all kinds of excuses as to why I cannot make myself available. Vek approached me at an event in Atlanta and told me if I was interested to reach out to him. After actually taking the time to check out his work, the quality and authenticity blew me away. Separating himself from commercial photography and taking the approach as a visionary broadened my perspective on art overall. Vek was such a pleasure; it is such an honor to know that someone actually sees you in their vision before coming in contact with you. There is a first time for everything and I must say, I would not wish it with anyone else. He is professional, knowledgeable and passion in the flesh.
The experience in itself was very much so experimental, given I’ve never done anything even remotely close before. I didn’t know that I could be so comfortable in front of a complete stranger. Vek explained his concepts to me and broke everything down to me as the shoot went along. He made many references to film, something we both have in common, explaining particular concepts and mechanisms. He is representation of pure, raw talent. Period. I hope to collaborate on future projects. He dropped some gems and I am most appreciative of such genuine, dedicated artists.
